The Autostadt Car Towers and Museum in Germany
The Autostadt, created by a well-known Volkswagen brand to skyrocket customer service, is located near the company’s factory in Wolfsburg, Germany. It is a striking landmark of that fair city. The structure is basically a car museum of all vehicles the Volkswagen company has ever released. In addition, there is a cinema, where automotive enthusiasts can comfortably spend time while their car is being taken care of at an adjacent car service.
What’s unique to the Autostadt is the Car Towers where the cars are parked at different levels. The cars are delivered here directly from the factory conveyor, so that everyone can find an interesting model, pay for it at the place and ride home. The height of the Car Towers is almost 600 meters (1970 ft), and the whole structure can accommodate up to 400 cars.
The Towers are connected with the plant through a tunnel which is 700 meters long. That’s the way the vehicles are moved on a conveyor right into the basements of the towers. Then a car gets picked up to a certain level and placed in an appropriate cell. The cars are moved down alike. The speed of the process is almost 2 meters per second.
When buying a car in the Autostadt, the customer can be 100% sure he/she gets a new car from the assembly line. This ensures that the car has never been used before and the buyers are the first to ever sit behind the wheel. The automobile-manufacturing plant produces cars that are worthy to be in any garage. The museum exhibits not only the most recent models, but some old good rides, manufactured in the earlier years, thus acting as a museum as well.
Volkswagen has built a great building that is not only functional, but also serves as a city landmark. The Autostadt is a versatile structure that combines the recreation area with a shop of a wide range of cars, which is most certainly able to surprise everyone.
