Cult center of Nazca — Cahuachi settlement

Nazca culture for many years continues to amaze not only many archaeologists and historians dealing with the theme of the ancient history of the peoples who inhabited the southern part of the American continent. And among such places of antiquity, as the capital of the Inca Cusco, or Iximche main mound civilization in May, a separate item worth mentioning Cahuachi largest religious and ceremonial center of the Nazca civilization.

Purely architectural, fort Cahuachi several towers over the Nazca and positioned thereon giant images. In addition to it as a result of excavations, archaeologists have found quite a number of ritual objects, which are usually used by pilgrims to perform certain religious rituals.

Another interesting fact was discovered by researchers found among giant picture on the Nazca Plateau found stylized figures of animals such as whales and monkeys, which in this region are absent by definition.
