One of the most leading architectural worldwide company Foster+Partners has opened the doors of its new hotel in London. In Me Hotel, located in the heart of West End, everything from facings of the building till sanitary ware belongs to brand. Modern hotel design is perfectly matches an exterior of the building which adjoins to constructions no less graceful in its architecture.
Along with ME Hotel, in which there are 157 rooms and 16 suits, Foster+Partners have reconstructed adjacent building Marconi House built in 1904. Its interior had completely redesigned for accommodation of 87 apartments in. When building works had ended, Me Hotel with its front elevation from Portland stone became the real pearl of the street along Aldwych Road.
The central door of the hotel is located in a tower at the corner. On the top floor, made in the form of a glass construction in Edvardian style, there is a double-storey penthouse with unforgettable view from the windows. Guests, who just arrived to hotel, pass through the restaurants and bar on the ground floor and come upstairs in a lobby with an adjacent bar for check in their room, where night costs 340 euro on average.
In design of Me Hotel, executed in minimalist style, masters added bright accents in textiles and decoration items. There are white walls, upholstered with quilted leather, supplemented with wardrobes with a coating of black gloss; TVs on the walls and illuminated shelves. Also illumination can be applied to a table, design of which belongs to Foster+Partners.
On the top floor on hotel roof there is a Radio Rooftop Bar with a beautiful view of the river and the Westminster, historical district of London. Going down a few floors below, hotel guests will find conference hall and gym. Also there is a 25 meters cinema hall.
David Nelson, director of design department in Foster+Partners, said about their new project so, «Our aim is to make sure that the hotel would be absolutely unique project corresponding to the high level of service. We put ourselves in the place of guests to make sure that staying in Me Hotel will be memorable. We had made lot of changes improving design without spending more than agreed budget. As a result, our hotel combines both simplicity and elegance, aesthetics with versatility.”
